If you are pregnant again in the third trimester after a 20-month cesarean section, you can usually have it if the incision has recovered well and there are no other abnormalities. If the uterine incision is poorly recovered, it is not recommended.
1. Possible: Under normal circumstances, it is recommended to get pregnant 2 years after the cesarean section, as the uterus has usually recovered to normal by then, and the risk factor during pregnancy and childbirth is lower.
Pregnancy 20 months after cesarean section can be considered as it is already close to 2 years, but you should go to the hospital for examination in time, if the wound recovers well and there is no abnormality, you can continue to get pregnant.
2. Don’t: If the incision site is found to be poorly healed at the time of examination, it is not recommended to continue the pregnancy. This is because as the fetus grows, the uterus will gradually increase in size and there is a possibility of uterine rupture, which may even threaten the life of the mother and baby in serious cases.
To avoid abnormalities, it is recommended that contraception be used within 2 years of the cesarean section to avoid unwanted pregnancies. If you are pregnant within 2 years and there is no abnormality during the examination, you are able to continue your pregnancy, but you need to visit your doctor for regular checkups during your pregnancy.
Especially in the later stages of pregnancy, if there are any abnormalities, urgent medical treatment should be sought to avoid serious consequences.
