Can you choose a son in the IVF generation?

The first generation of IVF cannot choose a son. IVF is divided into first, second and third generation IVF. Generally the first and second generation of IVF are not able to choose the sex of the fetus, mostly because the first and second generation of IVF do not routinely screen the chromosomes of the embryo. Therefore, the gender of the fetus is not known. Only third-generation IVF is able to choose the gender of the child, because third-generation IVF is suitable for couples at risk of hereditary diseases, and the embryos will be genetically tested before the transfer to screen for disease-causing genes, and the gender of the fetus will be known as well, however, the law of our country explicitly prohibits the selection of the gender of the fetus that is not medically necessary. IVF technology is designed to help infertile couples obtain a healthy newborn, not a tool for choosing the sex of the fetus, and it is not recommended to undergo IVF treatment for the purpose of choosing the sex of the fetus.
