What’s going on with the throat beating like a heartbeat?

The feeling of a heartbeat in the throat can be caused by arrhythmia or a tumor in the neck. Heart arrhythmias such as supraventricular tachycardia, premature ventricular contractions, and premature atrial contractions can cause the heart to beat too fast, resulting in a heartbeat-like sensation in the throat. This may be especially true after strenuous activity or during an episode of a malignant arrhythmia. When arrhythmia occurs, proper rest is usually recommended. Patients with arrhythmia caused by pathologic reasons should be treated with heart rate-lowering drugs such as metoprolol under the supervision of a doctor for control, which can lead to relief of symptoms. When the patient suffers from hemangioma or aneurysm in the neck, if the rhythm and frequency of the hemangioma or aneurysm are the same as that of the heart, it will also cause the above symptoms. If you experience a heartbeat in your throat, it is recommended that you go to the hospital in time to have a thorough examination to find out the cause of the problem and receive treatment under the guidance of your doctor.
