Fetal movement is the activity of the fetus in the uterine cavity, which occurs at 14 weeks of pregnancy but is not felt by the vast majority of pregnant women.
For most pregnant women, fetal movement is usually noticeable after 16-18 weeks of pregnancy. At 14 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus is small and the activity is too small for the pregnant woman to feel.
The fetus stretching, kicking, and impacting the uterine wall in the uterus are all cases of fetal movement. Pregnant women need to detect fetal movement because the number of times the fetus moves, how fast or slow it moves, and how strong or weak it is can indicate the safety and well-being of the fetus in the uterus.
Normal fetal movement is no less than 3~5 times an hour, especially during the 28~38 weeks of pregnancy, which is the active period of fetal movement, and then it will be slightly weakened until delivery. Pregnant women are advised to have regular checkups to know the growth and development of the fetus.
