Can autoimmune hepatitis be cured?

Autoimmune hepatitis is theoretically incurable because it is caused by autoimmune dysfunction that causes damage to one’s own liver cells, so it is treated with hormones and immunosuppressive drugs for a long time. Of course, the amount of hormones and immunosuppressants will be gradually reduced as the treatment improves and the autoantibody titer decreases. Generally, in the first year, patients with autoimmune hepatitis have more liver punctures, and the dosage of hormones and immunosuppressants is higher. Autoimmune hepatitis is not a purely liver-invasive disease, but is often associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.
