What kind of surgery is ESD endoscopy

ESD endoscopy is endoscopic mucosal stripping, which is mainly used for the treatment of gastrointestinal tract lesions such as early stage cancer and submucosal tumors. Endoscopic mucosal dissection is a surgical method to remove gastrointestinal mucosal lesions at one time by using gastroscope or colonoscope. 1. Early stage cancer: Early stage cancer without lymphatic metastasis and the tumor is mainly confined to the mucosal layer and submucosal layer, ESD can be used to remove the tumor. In this case, it can achieve the same therapeutic effect as surgery. 2. Submucosal tumors: such as lipomas, carcinoid tumors and mesenchymal tumors diagnosed by ultrasonic endoscopy with shallow location, the lesions can be completely peeled off by ESD. At present, ESD has been widely used in the endoscopic treatment of early gastric cancer, early esophageal cancer and early intestinal cancer. It is less invasive, more precise, avoids serious external surgical trauma and facilitates patient recovery. However, endoscopic endothelial dissection is not suitable for patients with malignant tumors with deeper infiltration depth or metastasis, which require surgical operation for complete resection and lymph node clearance.
