What should I do if I get a thorn in my finger?

Finger prick needs to be treated according to its severity, if the prick is shallow, disinfection before and after pulling out the prick can be done; if the prick is deeper, hemostasis, disinfection, pulling out the prick, bandaging, etc. are needed.
1. Shallow finger puncture: in this case, you can usually pull out the puncture by yourself, and use iodine povidone before and after pulling out the puncture to sterilize the area and prevent infection, in addition, if there is no other discomfort, there is no need to carry out other special treatments.
2. Deep finger prick: it is not recommended to pull it out by oneself, if there is bleeding, first of all, we should stop bleeding by compression, and then disinfect the wound extensively, and then we need to use the corresponding medical equipment to take out the foreign body, and then we should use the sterile gauze to apply pressure bandage on the local area to prevent the wound from being contaminated, and if necessary, we should inject tetanus antitoxin in a timely manner to prevent the infection of tetanus bacillus.
If the wound is infected and there is obvious pus oozing out, the abscess should be incised and drained in time; if the pathogenic bacteria enter the bloodstream and multiply, leading to systemic infection, showing symptoms such as chills, high fever and arthralgia, anti-infection treatment should be carried out actively, and surgical treatment is needed if necessary.
If the prick in the finger is deep or other uncomfortable symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, under the guidance of the doctor for standardized treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
