Lumps in the armpits during pregnancy are considered to be related to multiple breasts, lipomas, and enlarged lymph nodes.
1. Multiple breasts: refers to fully developed paratesticular glands, commonly found in the armpit area, which are usually smaller than normal breasts and are not obvious during non-pregnancy. However, during pregnancy, due to the influence of estrogen, the paratesticular glands proliferate, which may lead to lumps in the armpits.
2. Lipoma: It is a tumor of normal fat-like tissue, which is found in the limbs and trunk, and may also appear in the armpit. It is usually soft and slow-growing, so some pregnant women with underarm lumps during pregnancy may be due to underarm lipoma.
3. Enlarged lymph nodes: lymph nodes are peripheral immune organs, usually the lymph nodes in armpit, submandibular and groin are palpable, but usually very small. If viral, fungal and other pathogenic infections may lead to lymph node enlargement in the armpits, which may lead to bumps in the armpits during pregnancy in some pregnant women.
Bumps in the armpits during pregnancy can also be caused by other reasons, and in cases where the cause is unknown it is recommended to seek medical attention and treatment as prescribed by the doctor.
