What is synovitis of the hip joint?

The hip joint is the main structure that supports the weight of our body. Synovitis of the hip joint is simply an inflammation of the synovial tissue of the hip joint. The inflammatory irritation of the synovial membrane causes pain in the hip joint, as well as some uncomfortable symptoms such as limited mobility. There are many causes of hip synovitis, and treatment should be based on a clear understanding of the cause and, if necessary, an MRI or arthroscopy. A very common symptom of hip synovitis is severe pain. In the process of hip synovitis, due to the inflammatory changes in the synovial membrane within the joint tissue, there will be dilated synovial blood vessels and secretion of a large amount of inflammatory mediators, these inflammatory mediators can usually produce the symptoms of pain and discomfort. Another typical symptom of hip synovitis is significant hip joint dysfunction. In severe cases, the patient is unable to walk. After synovitis occurs, the joint becomes more painful due to the constant pain and discomfort, especially when walking, and the joint surfaces rub together constantly. The body adopts a special gait to reduce the friction of the joints and thus reduce the painful discomfort. This disease is more common in people who engage in prolonged physical activity or excessive weight bearing. In order to improve the discomfort of synovitis, patients need to get enough rest to avoid overuse of the hip joint. Medications are effective in the treatment of this disease. Non-steroidal sedative and anti-inflammatory drugs are usually chosen. These drugs not only provide analgesia, but also control synovitis and have an anti-inflammatory effect. The more commonly used drugs are nimesulide, ibuprofen and other drugs. These drugs may have certain side effects and it is best to use them under the guidance of a doctor. Through active and effective treatment of hip synovitis, the pain and discomfort can be relieved quickly and the normal walking function of the lower limbs can be restored.
