Primary hypertension and secondary hypertension are mainly identified and differentiated in terms of etiology and treatment.
1. Etiology: Primary hypertension is mainly caused by genetic and environmental factors, with obvious family aggregation. Environmental factors are mainly the problems of the surrounding working and living environment, and people engaged in high mental stress occupations are more likely to suffer from hypertension. Secondary hypertension is the elevation of blood pressure caused by other diseases, such as kidney disease, primary aldosteronism, pheochromocytoma and so on.
2. Treatment: Primary hypertension is generally difficult to cure, and requires long-term use of antihypertensive drugs, such as metoprolol, on the basis of dietary control; the treatment of secondary hypertension is mainly aimed at the primary disease, and targeted therapeutic measures can be taken after the cause of the disease is clarified, such as adrenal tumors that require surgical resection, and renal artery stenosis that requires stent implantation or surgical treatment to alleviate the narrowing of the arteries.
Whether it is primary hypertension or secondary hypertension patients need to combine their own situation, timely to the hospital under the guidance of the doctor for treatment.
