High incidence of pediatric cerebral palsy must be taken seriously

For the whole world, cerebral palsy is a disease that deserves attention. It seriously affects the physical and mental health of the affected children, and causes a great burden to families and society. At present, the incidence of cerebral palsy has been high, and a large number of children with cerebral palsy are born every year in both developed and developing countries: for example, there are 750,000 children with cerebral palsy in the United States, and the incidence rate is about 2.5‰; in addition, the incidence rate of children with cerebral palsy is about 1.5‰ in Japan, 2.08‰ in Denmark, 2.34‰ in Norway; 1.8‰ to 5‰ in the United Kingdom, and 1 out of every 500 babies in Canada In Canada, 1 out of every 500 infants is affected by cerebral palsy, and there are about 50,000 cerebral palsy patients in Canada. According to research data, there are about 770,000 to 1,750,000 children with cerebral palsy in China, and the incidence of cerebral palsy in children aged 0 to 6 is as high as 1.8 to 4 per 1,000, and it is increasing by more than 46,000 every year. The common causes of cerebral palsy can be summarized into the following four categories: 1. Prenatal factors: congenital malformations, genetic defects, in utero infections, cerebral hypoxia due to pre-eclampsia, rubella infection, toxic exposure, radioactive radiation, drug poisoning, toxemia of pregnancy, placenta or umbilical cord abnormalities, prenatal hemorrhage, blood type incompatibility, maternal trauma, infection or multiple pregnancies, etc.; 2. Intrapartum Factors: fetal hypoxia during delivery, obstructed labor, neonatal asphyxia, giant babies, postnatal respiratory failure, premature and immature babies, birth injuries, low birth weight babies; 3, postnatal factors: nuclear jaundice, neonatal shock, cranio-cerebral injury and seizures, respiratory obstruction in immature babies, cerebral hypoxia caused by pulmonary ventilation dysfunction; 4, genetic factors: there is still a controversy. The medical profession in general, the most important causes are “premature birth, obstructed labor, jaundice, hypoxia”. Therefore, if your baby is born with these conditions, parents must pay more attention to it and send your child to the doctor for diagnosis as soon as you find any abnormal symptoms. Symptoms of cerebral palsy need to be kept in mind: There are many symptoms of cerebral palsy, and they vary by age. During the neonatal period, there is often unexplained crying, too much or too little sleep, weakness in sucking, difficulty in swallowing, and easy frightening. In infancy, the symptoms are gradually obvious, mainly due to the inability to develop motor functions and intellectual behavior according to normal developmental procedures. Some children with cerebral palsy often have symptoms such as drooling, dumb face, mental retardation, speech, hearing and vision impairment. In general, children with cerebral palsy lag behind normal children in development and have abnormal movements and postures. For example, in the prone position, a normal child can support his or her upper body with both arms and lift his or her head, but a child with cerebral palsy cannot. In a normal child who is lying on his back with his arms outstretched, he can raise his arms and play with his hands facing him while remaining in a flat position. In the case of a supine child with cerebral palsy, the child also raises his hands, but grasps both hands of the adult facing him, and even hangs his upper body in a particular position. When the child’s hand was used to hold the child’s single knee, the child with cerebral palsy kicked the other leg at the gripper’s hand, but the normal child did not respond in this way. The child with cerebral palsy is easily startled when hands are thrown at the child’s side, and the child’s limbs are raised and he or she screams, whereas the normal child does not. Normal children are able to spread their limbs and lie on their backs, while children with cerebral palsy often flex one leg and one arm when lying on their backs. In short, children with cerebral palsy can be detected early with careful observation.
