Methods for removing dental fluorosis

There are several methods to remove dental fluorosis: 1) improve water source and reduce fluoride intake; 2) for mild and moderate dental fluorosis, chemical decolorization can be considered for whitening; 3) for severe and substantial defective dental fluorosis, invasive operations, such as veneers of composite resin, porcelain veneers or porcelain dental treatment, are required. Mild fluorosis does not damage the teeth, only the color change, so no special treatment is usually needed; for severe and fluorosis that has caused substantial defects, chemical whitening and restoration can be considered.
