Porcelain veneer restoration improves the aesthetics of fluorosis patients

Dental fluorosis is the result of excessive fluoride intake during tooth development, resulting in enamel hypoplasia, which is manifested as a large number of chalky white, yellow, brown, or even black patches on the teeth. In severe cases, it is accompanied by loss of enamel. Many people confuse dental fluorosis with tetracycline teeth because both are changes in tooth color and texture. However, tetracycline teeth are dentin dysplasia caused by the ingestion of large amounts of tetracycline drugs during fetal life, or after birth during the period of tooth development. The main manifestation is graying, yellowing or browning of the teeth. In severe cases, it is accompanied by enamel defects. The two treatments are similar. Both are treated with artificial materials to change the color of the tooth surface and improve the aesthetics.
