How often to take sleeping pills

Sleeping pills are taken at bedtime, which can be between half an hour and one hour before bedtime. Sleeping pills are now commonly used as benzodiazepine sleeping pills and new non-benzodiazepine sleeping pills, both of which have the effects of rapid introduction of sleep, prolonging the sleep phase and deepening the degree of sleep. Patients who take them half an hour to one hour before bedtime can quickly reach their peak blood levels and achieve a rapid onset of action to achieve a hypnotic effect. The duration of action varies depending on the type of drug, with some drugs lasting only 2-3 hours and others lasting 7-9 hours or even longer. The newer non-benzodiazepine sleeping pills are recommended, with a relatively short half-life, more rapid onset of action, fewer side effects, and little residual hangover the next day. If the patient cannot fall asleep after half an hour of taking the drug or wakes up again after two hours of sleep, another half tablet of the same drug can be added.
