Patients who suddenly feel a pins and needles sensation on their body are considered to have peripheral neuritis as a result of a number of causes if they are at the end of their hands and feet. For example, if the patient has diabetes, poor blood sugar control can lead to microcirculatory disorders and insufficient nutrition of peripheral nerves, causing numbness and pins-and-needles pain in the patient’s hands and feet. Patients with long-term, heavy alcohol consumption can lead to B1 deficiency in the body, which also tends to cause peripheral nerve damage, manifesting as numbness or pain in the limbs, as well as malnutrition of the skin. If the patient appears under the condition of cold and wind, also observe whether the patient has hives on his body. If the patient has urticaria it may also manifest as a pins and needles sensation or a burning or itching sensation, especially when the patient is nervous or fatigued and easily triggered.
