The acupuncture points in the legs are mainly the points of the Foot San Yin and Foot San Yang meridians and some of the extra meridian points in the 12 main meridians that run through the legs. The foot San Li is the first major health care and strengthening point in the body. Liangqiu is mainly an important point for treating stomach pain and acidity. Shangxia Juxu is a lower conjunction point belonging to the large intestine and small intestine, so it is more effective in treating gastrointestinal disorders. The Fenglong point is an important point for treating phlegm, so if you have phlegm and dampness or strange diseases, you will use the Fenglong point from the phlegm theory of treatment. Important points on the foot Shaoyang gallbladder meridian include Feng Shi, Yang Ling Quan, and Hang Zhong. Hanging Bell is part of the medulla, so it is often chosen for treatment of neurological diseases. Yanglingquan is an important point for draining the qi of the liver and gall bladder, and can benefit dampness to treat damp-heat disorders. The foot solar bladder meridian is an acupuncture point on the posterior side of the lower extremities, including Zhizhong and Chengshan, and is often used for lower back and leg disorders. Some of the points on the Foot San Yin meridian are also frequently used, including San Yin Jiao on the Foot Tai Yin Spleen meridian, Chung Quan and Tai Xi on the Foot Shao Yin Kidney meridian, and Tai Chong on the Foot Convulsive Yin Liver meridian, all of which are frequently used to treat diseases related to the internal organs and diseases that are localized to the meridians.
