White pepper, or the Chinese herb pepper, is ground into a powder. Black pepper and white pepper come from the same source, and therefore have the same efficacy.
Both black pepper and white pepper are known as pepper in Chinese medicine, only the time of collection is different. Both have the effects of lowering qi to move stagnation, warming the middle and relieving pain (by warming the spleen and stomach to relieve pain), opening the stomach and eliminating phlegm, etc. Both can treat vomiting, abdominal pain, epilepsy and diarrhea, and are usually used in combination with other herbs such as gao liang jiang (Gao liang ginger), hemi xia (half-sia), wu ju (Cornuus officinalis), and wicker (Wicker).
The adverse effects and contraindications of Pepper are not clear; patients are advised not to consume raw, cold or chilled food while taking the medicine to avoid aggravating the condition.
If you need to use pepper, please use it only after the guidance of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner and do not use it blindly.
