Low blood pressure, also known as diastolic blood pressure, the normal standard is 60-90mmHg. If the diastolic blood pressure is high repeatedly, timely diagnosis and treatment are needed to clarify the cause. Effective management of high diastolic blood pressure includes dietary adjustments, lifestyle adjustments, and treatment of primary diseases.
1. Dietary adjustment: There is a close correlation between elevated blood pressure and excessive sodium intake. According to the 2022 Chinese Dietary Guidelines, the daily salt intake of adults should be less than 5g, including sodium salt, soy sauce and sodium bicarbonate.
2. Lifestyle adjustment: people with body mass index greater than 24 need to lose weight, abdominal circumference less than 90cm for men and less than 85cm for women, moderate-intensity exercise for about 300 minutes per week, regular work and rest, and reduce mental stress to help control blood pressure.
3. Treatment of primary diseases: If high diastolic blood pressure occurs repeatedly, it is necessary to diagnose and treat the cause in time. Secondary causes such as renal artery stenosis need to be treated by surgery; primary hypertension needs to be improved by using nifedipine extended-release tablets and other medications in accordance with the doctor’s instructions.
If there is any abnormality in blood pressure, one should consult a doctor for a clear diagnosis and follow the doctor’s instructions.
