Birth occurs normally at the latest 24 to 48 hours after the breaking of amniotic fluid, but there are special cases.
Amniotic fluid is the liquid present in the amniotic cavity, and its main function is to protect the fetus, relieve the external pressure on the fetus, facilitate the balance of body fluids, and help reduce the damage caused by the prolonged pressure of the fetus on the cervix and vagina when the pregnant woman gives birth.
1. In general, if the fetal heart is normal, the amniotic fluid volume is normal (800~1000ml), and the color is normal, the fetus can be delivered within 24~48 hours.
2. Under special circumstances, such as abnormal fetal heartbeat or insufficient contraction ability of the pregnant woman, the fetus can be delivered in ten hours after the injection of oxytocic; once the fetus has asphyxia and other circumstances, immediate cesarean section, can be delivered in two hours.
If your water breaks, you should seek immediate medical attention to avoid adverse consequences.
