Ankle ligament rupture is a relatively urgent situation, it is not recommended to carry out self-testing, you should immediately go to the hospital, according to the clinical manifestations and imaging examination for diagnosis, to determine the treatment plan, so as not to delay the condition.

1. Clinical manifestations: ankle ligament rupture is categorized into incomplete rupture and complete rupture according to the degree of injury, usually there is a clear history of trauma, and the patient has obvious pain and pressure pain at the place where the ligament is ruptured, especially when the ankle joint is moving to the medial and lateral side. Bleeding at the site of the rupture can occur during ligament rupture, and the bleeding can cause localized ecchymosis and swelling. Due to the pain and swelling, the movement of the ankle joint is significantly limited.

2. Imaging examination: Rupture of ankle ligament should be examined by imaging examination, such as CT or MRI, etc. According to the imaging examination, combined with the patient’s clinical manifestations, the diagnosis will be confirmed, and then consider whether to carry out surgical treatment or conservative treatment.

Whether the ankle ligament is torn or completely ruptured, it needs to be treated immediately with elevation, rest, cold compresses and compression bandages. Once swelling and pain in the ankle joint occurs, consult a doctor immediately, do not judge on your own, and do not massage and other treatments on your own, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
