  Precautions before and after gastroscopy: I. Before gastroscopy 1, the day before the examination dinner can be into easy to digest, light diet. Fasting water is required for 6~12 hours. For those with delayed gastric emptying, longer fasting is required; for those with pyloric obstruction, gastric lavage should be performed beforehand.  2. Please bring your medical records and previous examination reports before the examination. For painless gastroscopy, a family member must accompany the patient.  3. If you need to take oral medication (such as antihypertensive medication) in the morning of the examination, or if you have serious heart and lung disease, blood clotting disorder, hypertension, or have recently taken aspirin medication, please communicate with the doctor in advance.  4. Before the examination, take oral local anesthetic drugs for the pharynx under the guidance of medical care, and if necessary, take additional de-foaming agents and de-mucolytics to ensure the examination effect. If you have a history of drug allergy, please declare in advance.  Gastroscopy 1.Patients enter the examination room, relax the belt, take off the glasses, unbutton the collar, and lie on the examination bed with the left side facing down.  2. Those with movable dentures should remove them to avoid accidental swallowing during the examination.  3. The general examination time is about 5~10 minutes. Nausea, dry vomiting and throat discomfort may occur, please relax and breathe deeply to reduce discomfort. Try not to swallow saliva to avoid choking and coughing.  4. Light music can be played for you to distract your attention and reduce tension.  5. Patients with sensitive pharynx or fear of gastroscopy can choose painless gastroscopy. The nurse will first infuse the fluid, followed by intravenous anesthesia by the anesthesiologist. Patients are examined in anesthesia sleep, without any pain, safe and comfortable.  6. During the examination, the physician will decide whether to conduct biopsy pathology examination according to the condition, and will not inform the patient and family members separately.  After gastroscopy 1. Fasting from food and water for two hours. Biopsy patients are forbidden to drink alcohol and stimulating food, and can eat a semi-liquid diet for one day. Resume normal diet the next day.  2. Do not drive a bicycle or motor vehicle, operate machinery, work at height, actuarial and logical analysis, etc. on the day after painless gastroscopy.  3. For those who do not take biopsy, you can take the examination report sheet after the examination; for those who take biopsy, you need to come to our department to take the examination report sheet and pathology report sheet according to the time informed by the pathology department.
