Care for women, care for breasts – check-ups start with yourself!

  The latest statistics in Beijing show that the incidence of breast cancer has increased by 107.9% in the last 10 years! As a woman, we should care for ourselves and our breasts, starting from self-examination. Here are some tips for you to learn how to check your own body, and then go to the breast clinic of major hospitals (many hospitals have breast specialists, some even have breast medicine and surgery) for early detection and treatment of breast tumors.
  (a) Breast self-examination time: one week after menstruation.
  (B) Breast visual examination.
  1. Body position.
  To the mirror, take the arms down position, hands crossed waist position, arms up position in turn.
  2.Observation content.
  (1) Appearance: whether the bilateral mammary glands are symmetrical and whether there is a local bulge.
  (2) Nipple: whether there is inversion, deviation, erosion, overflow.
  (3) Breast skin: whether there is localized slight sinking of the skin (this is the “dimple sign”, an early sign of breast cancer), local redness, orange peel-like changes, varicose veins, nodules, etc.
  (4) Axillary fossa and supraclavicular fossa: whether there is swelling and elevation.
  (iii) Breast palpation.
  1. Position and sequence.
  Sitting and lying combined, left arm up, hand behind the head, check the left breast with the right hand, in the order (nipple-centered): external upper → external lower → internal lower → internal upper → nipple → axilla. Check the opposite side in the same way.
  2. Technique.
  Palms together, finger belly touching the breast, light pressure, sliding palpation, find the mass carefully check its nature.
  3, palpation content.
  (1) normal breast: uniform and consistent feeling of tenderness and fine granularity, menstruation, lactation or with age, nodule-like feeling increased, but uniform and consistent.
  (2) Lumps: size, hardness, border, mobility, smoothness of the surface, adhesions to the skin and deeper tissues.
  (3) Localized glandular thickening: location, extent, texture, and presence of tenderness.
  (4) Nipple: squeeze nipple for pain, nipple for overflow, color if overflow (bloody, coffee, colorless transparent, milky white).
  (5) Axillary and supraclavicular fossa: pay attention to the presence of enlarged lymph nodes.
