What’s wrong with high androgens in women?

High androgens in women may be caused by ovarian and adrenal gland lesions, pituitary or hypothalamic tumors, polycystic ovary syndrome and so on.
1. Polycystic ovary syndrome: Clinical manifestations of hairy body, rough skin, acne, irritability, will inhibit follicle stimulating hormone leading to sporadic ovulation or no ovulation, resulting in irregular menstruation, or even do not come to affect the menstrual cycle, affecting pregnancy.
2. Ovarian tumors and adrenal tumors: these two causes of hyperandrogenemia in women are relatively rare in clinical practice.
3. Pituitary or hypothalamic tumor: it can also lead to endocrine abnormality and hyperandrogenism.
Women with high androgen need to be diagnosed clearly in regular hospitals, and then treated under the close supervision and guidance of doctors, and not treated with medication on their own.
