Rectal ulcers usually recover in about one to two months with standardized treatment, but the recovery time depends on the severity of the condition. Rectal ulcers are ulcers that occur in the rectal area, usually due to ulceration of the mucosal layer, submucosal layer or even the muscular layer of the rectal wall to form ulcers. Usually mild patients can recover in about a month with nutritional support and adequate rest. Severe patients with benign ulcers can be treated by taking medications that inhibit gastric acid secretion, such as rabeprazole, to promote mucosal repair, and usually recover in one month. Drugs need to be taken under the guidance of a doctor, and should not be abused privately. For patients who do not get obvious results from medication, they can undergo proctocolectomy to remove the diseased intestinal tubes to achieve the purpose of healing, and will usually be cured in one to two months after the operation. Patients are advised to drink plenty of warm water, pay attention to rest, do not drink alcohol and eat spicy and stimulating food, and keep the bowel movement smooth. If uncomfortable symptoms occur, they should go to the hospital in time to avoid aggravation of the condition.
