How to treat severe snoring

Snoring, which is commonly caused by narrowing of nasal and throat passages and poor airflow during breathing, is potentially dangerous to health and requires attention, often treated with non-surgical or surgical treatments.
1.Non-surgical treatment
(1) Instrumental treatment: Nasal dilator, retractor to prevent tongue falling back and mandibular elevator are used.
(2) Weight control: weight control is beneficial to control snoring.
(3) Body position: Side-lying position can reduce snoring in some patients.
(4) Wearing a ventilator: For patients with heavy snoring or those who are not suitable for surgery for the time being, they can consider wearing a ventilator to improve the lack of oxygen at night.
2.Surgical treatment
(1) For tonsil hypertrophy, narrow pharyngeal cavity, etc., we can consider uvulopalatopharyngoplasty, laser-assisted uvulopalatopharyngoplasty and so on. Expand the volume of pharyngeal cavity, improve snoring and hypoxia.
(2) For deviated nasal septum, hypertrophy of nasal turbinate, etc., functional nasal endoscopic surgery can be considered to expand the volume of nasal cavity and improve snoring symptoms.
Snoring is a health hazard that needs to be taken seriously. Snoring patients need to consult the doctor in time and follow the doctor’s instructions.
