Can Alzheimer’s be cured?

Alzheimer’s disease is a chronic disease in which the nerve cells of the brain die, leading to brain atrophy. Current research has confirmed that nerve cells are mitotic cells, i.e., unlike cells in other organs (e.g., skin, bone, etc.), it is impossible to reproduce and replenish them on their own after loss. There is no method to regenerate nerve cells, and the causes of Alzheimer’s disease are complex and the course of the disease is long, so the treatment is all symptomatic. Therefore, some people have a negative attitude towards the treatment of this disease and believe that Alzheimer’s disease is incurable. However, some people think that the treatment should be based on the actual needs, and in the absence of allopathic treatment methods, symptomatic treatment should be carried out first to help stabilize the disease and have certain effect. These two views are mainly related to the different understanding of the nature of treatment. Of course, it is impossible to completely cure Alzheimer’s disease according to the current scientific level. However, judging from the clinical treatment effect, after treatment, some patients’ brain function has improved significantly, their life function has improved and their survival time has been prolonged. The main objectives of treating this disease are as follows: 1. Delay and stop the aggravation of the disease This disease is a chronic progressive aggravation of the disease, if not treated, short 4 to 5 years long 7 to 10 years, soon progress to bedridden, incontinent, silent, like a baby in the advanced stage. If the treatment can organize the progress of the disease and maintain the patient in the original mild condition state, this is also the effect and purpose of the treatment. 2.Improve memory function As the disease worsens, memory is significantly reduced, and in severe cases, memory is completely lost. After treatment, if the memory loss can be maintained in the original mild state or partially improved, this is also the effect of treatment. 3.Improve the ability of daily life, improve the quality of life Patients with this disease have different degrees of reduced living ability, the lighter ones can take care of themselves and live independently; the more serious ones completely need the care of family members, which brings heavy mental burden to family members, and because of the aggravation of the disease, long-term bed-ridden, malnutrition, resulting in physical and mental pain of patients, affecting their quality of life. If after treatment, the patient’s living ability is improved, he or she can take care of daily life and even participate in outdoor cultural and sports activities, which is important to improve the quality of life. 4.Reducing complications In the late stage of the disease, when the body’s resistance decreases, the patient is bedridden for a long time and incontinent, complications such as decubitus ulcer, fracture and pneumonia are likely to occur and even cause death. If after treatment, the condition can be reduced, so that the patient is not in this late state and out of bed life, and increase the patient’s confidence in life, which is also the purpose of treatment. 5.Treatment of mental symptoms This disease is accompanied by suspicion, hallucination, depression, disorientation, negative suicide and other mental symptoms, if not treated in time, it will bring certain danger to the patient’s family and society.
