The exact location of the Sanyinjiao point is on the inner side of the lower leg, 3 inches above the tip of the inner ankle and behind the medial border of the tibia.
Sanyinjiao is an acupoint of the Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian. This acupoint is the meeting point of three meridians, namely the Foot Syncopal Liver Meridian, the Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian, and the Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian, and is therefore called “Sanyinjiao”.
The clinical application of Sanyinjiao point is very wide, commonly used in the treatment of intestinal tinnitus, abdominal distension and diarrhea and other diseases of the spleen and stomach weakness; irregular menstruation, bring down, infertility, stagnant birth and other gynecological disorders; spermatorrhea, impotence, premature ejaculation, urination, and other diseases of the male genito-urinary system; but also for the treatment of the lower limbs impotence paralysis (lower limbs weakness, numbness and pain) and yin deficiency of the symptoms.
This point can be moxibustion. It should be noted that pregnant women are prohibited from needling this point.
