As the new coronavirus is a respiratory infectious disease, it has the common characteristics of respiratory diseases, that is, cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion and so on, and new coronavirus patients can have a sore throat. However, a sore throat is not necessarily new coronavirus pneumonia, because many similar diseases can have a sore throat, such as rhinitis, colds, laryngitis, and even sometimes loud or long speech can cause a sore throat, so it cannot be used as a diagnostic criterion for new coronavirus pneumonia. If novel coronavirus pneumonia is suspected, chest X-ray CT as well as secretion nucleic acid test should be done promptly.
