What causes macularity in the eyes of a 17 year old

Macula belongs to the normal eye structure, it is normal to have macula in the eyes, but it is abnormal if a 17 year old teenager has yellow patches in the eyes, which is usually caused by blepharophthalmos, hyperpigmentation and so on.
