What is Addison’s disease?

Addison’s disease is primary hypoadrenocorticism, which is low adrenocortical function caused by impaired adrenocortical function due to adrenal tuberculosis and autoimmune reactive diseases. The adrenal cortex mainly secretes glucocorticoids and salt corticoids, so the clinical manifestations of Addison’s disease are mainly glucocorticoid deficiency, which may also be accompanied by symptoms of salt corticoid deficiency. The main clinical manifestations of Addison’s disease are: a. fatigue, weakness, poor nutrition, hypotension, hypoglycemia, and poor body resistance. Second, it may be accompanied by symptoms of salt corticosteroid deficiency, such as low blood pressure or postural hypotension, poor physical strength, and salty food, etc. Third, long-term Addison’s disease is not effectively treated, and in stressful situations such as infection, adrenocortical crisis may occur, endangering the patient’s life.
