Choledochal multiple stones are difficult to eradicate after surgery, but the treatment is effective and recurrence of the stones needs to be prevented.
Multiple choledochal stones can be treated with choledochotomy and T-tube drainage, which is generally applicable to simple choledochal stones without stenosis and other disease changes; and bilioenteric anastomosis, which is mainly applicable to patients with distal choledochal stenosis and so on. The prognosis for surgical treatment is excellent, but as long as bile is still secreted, there is a risk of recurrence of choledocholithiasis.
It is important to prevent recurrence after surgery by avoiding high-fat and high-calorie foods and choosing a light diet. Keep a regular routine and don’t overwork. Don’t abuse alcohol, and proper activity can also reduce the risk of gallstone recurrence.
Once symptoms such as abdominal pain and jaundice appear, you should be alerted to the recurrence of gallstones and go to the hospital as soon as possible for treatment.
