There are studies on how long the rabies vaccine can be stored routinely, and room temperature means 25 degrees. The studies have shown that rabies vaccine at 25 degrees is likely to be inactivated at one month, and at six months, the vast majority of it is inactivated. Half of the rabies vaccines, this time of loss of viability is three months. So if the rabies vaccine is left at room temperature for a day or two days, it’s likely to be viable. But if it’s left out too long, if it’s left out for almost a month, the rabies vaccine becomes less effective, or even loses its effectiveness. But at one month, only one of the six rabies vaccines in the study dropped below 2.5 IU, which is only a decrease in potency, not a complete loss of effect.
