Cranial repair is a relatively routine procedure in neurosurgery, and it is also a very old and classic procedure with a very mature surgical technique. In the long history of development, cranial repair materials have also followed the evolution of innovation, and now there are very good, excellent performance materials. In cranial repair surgery, the selection of better repair materials is an important factor affecting the outcome of the repair. At present, most of the repair materials used in most local hospitals for cranial bone repair surgery are the traditional titanium mesh materials. This kind of metal titanium mesh material also has some shortcomings and defects, in clinical use may appear in the postoperative rejection, infection, wear and tear of the scalp, resulting in the exposure of the material, affecting the postoperative ct MRI, including its insulation is not very good, the patient may be more sensitive to the external cold and hot environment after the operation, resulting in discomfort, and so on a lot of problems. Therefore, titanium mesh is not an ideal material for cranial bone repair. At present, there is a more advanced material called polyether ether ketone PEEK material, which has excellent performance and can well overcome the above problems of titanium mesh material, and has become a new trend of cranial bone repair material. At present, we widely use this advanced material for cranial bone repair surgery, and it has achieved great success in the clinic. The cost of skull repair is not generalized, it includes the cost of hospitalization, surgery, anesthesia, nursing care, medication, and of course, the main factor is the cost of the repair material. Like polyether ether ketone PEEK material, although the cost will be relatively higher, but its performance is very excellent, the repair effect is very good, is completely worth it; and titanium mesh material, although the cost is low, but there may be a variety of problems, the loss is not worth it.
