How to determine whether the condition is keratitis or uveitis requires slit lamp and funduscopic observation. Usually the location of the two lesions is different. If there is no inflammatory reaction in the iris or ciliary body, if there is no anterior chamber flashing or anterior or posterior iris adhesions, keratitis is more likely. Keratitis does not usually cause changes in the fundus of the eye. In the case of uveitis, there may be signs of vitreous clouding or fundus exudation, and ancillary tests, such as ultrasound or OCT, may also be performed to detect signs of fundus exudation or vitreous clouding.
