Eye herpes may be caused by herpes zoster virus infection or herpes simplex virus infection. Herpes viruses are somewhat self-limiting, and after treatment, herpes zoster may take 2 to 4 weeks or even longer to be completely cured, and herpes simplex can be cured in about 1 to 2 weeks. 1. Herpes zoster: It is usually caused by invasion of the trigeminal nerve, and in the eyelid area of the patient, small transparent blisters will appear.
