What’s a stitch for varicose veins?

Varicose veins are treated by injecting sclerosing agents into the varicose veins. Primary varicose veins of the lower extremities are elongated, varicose superficial veins of the body, commonly found in people who stand for long periods of time, with clinical manifestations including venous dilatation and weakness of the limbs. In addition, varicose hemorrhoidal veins (piles), esophagogastric fundal varicose veins and other diseases can also be treated by injection of the appropriate sclerosing agent. The principle of sclerotherapy for varicose veins is that injection of sclerosing agent into the blood vessel causes inflammation of the cells inside the blood vessel, causing the vein to atrophy and ultimately permanently occluding the lumen of the vein. Foam sclerotherapy has been widely used in the treatment of varicose veins. For lower limb varicose veins after sclerotherapy, gauze should be applied to compress the affected limbs, thighs should be compressed for 1 week and calves for about 6 weeks. In addition to this, the treatment of primary varicose veins includes: non-surgical and surgical treatments. In case of any discomfort, please seek medical advice and medication should be applied under doctor’s supervision.
