What are the causes and solutions of postpartum bulging

The main causes of postpartum bulge, also known as pelvic organ prolapse, include birth injury, age aging, increased abdominal pressure, and congenital developmental abnormalities. The solutions are divided into non-surgical and surgical treatments. 1. Childbirth injury: excessive stretching of the pelvic floor tissues during childbirth, reduced tension, coupled with improper postnatal care or early physical labor, make the pelvic floor function weakened, which will easily lead to pelvic floor organ prolapse. 2. Age aging: women have already caused some damage to the pelvic floor tissues due to childbirth. As age increases, especially after menopause, the secretion of estrogen decreases, the structure of pelvic floor undergoes degenerative changes, and the tissues become weak and flaccid, thus prolapse occurs. 3. Increased pressure in the abdominal cavity: prolonged heavy physical work, long standing or weight bearing, chronic cough, chronic constipation, etc. can increase the pressure in the abdominal cavity and aggravate prolapse. 4. Congenital developmental abnormality: the pelvic floor structure is born with developmental abnormality and weak tissues, which can’t tolerate physical work and resist the pressure of the abdominal cavity, thus it is more likely to have organ prolapse. For patients with mild symptoms and mild degree of illness, the treatment can be pelvic floor muscle exercise and rehabilitation, life adjustment, etc., while severe cases need surgical treatment for different situations. If patients experience symptoms such as frequent urination, difficulty in urination or urinary leakage after delivery, it is recommended that they go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
