Gray nails, also known as onychomycosis, are caused by fungal infections of the fingernails (toes) caused by fungi such as dermatophytes. The treatments for gray nails include topical medication, systemic medication and surgery.
1. Topical medication: After diagnosing gray nails, you can use 30% glacial acetic acid or 10% glacial acetic acid to soak the sick nails to inhibit the growth of fungus, and then apply some antifungal medications locally, such as ketoconazole ointment, amorphophallus powder, cyclopiazepoxide powder, etc., to kill the fungus.
2. Systemic medication: If more than one nail is infected, simple topical medication is not effective, and can be combined with oral antifungal medication, such as terbinafine, itraconazole and so on.
3. Surgical treatment: for single nail, when the effect of drug treatment is not good, you can surgically remove the diseased nail to treat gray nails.
It is recommended to consult a doctor in time after the diagnosis of onychomycosis, and use reasonable medication under the guidance of a professional physician, not blindly self-medication. Usually pay attention to hygiene and cleanliness, do not share daily necessities with others, so as to avoid cross-infection.
