What’s wrong with babies who like to poof and slobber?

A baby’s love of poofing and spitting can be categorized into physiological and pathological factors. Physiologic causes may be related to immature function. Pathologic causes may be related to oral ulcers, thrush, upper respiratory tract infections. 1. Physiological: due to the baby’s young age, the development of swallowing function is incomplete, saliva accumulation in the oral cavity, there will be a poof poof spit phenomenon. This phenomenon generally does not require special treatment, and will be slowly relieved later. 2. Pathologic: (1) Oral ulcers: babies with oral ulcers are often characterized by crying and irritability, drooling, which can also cause babies to puff and spit. The main manifestation of the oral mucosa yellowish or grayish-white ulcers. (2) Thrush: Most common in newborns and infants, mainly manifested as a white coating on the oral mucosa that is not easy to erase. Thrush causes discomfort in the baby’s mouth, and there will also be poofing and spraying of saliva. (3) Upper respiratory tract infection: the baby’s upper respiratory tract is infected by bacteria, viruses and other infections, causing nasal or throat secretions, increased secretions may cause poofing and drooling. It may also be accompanied by runny nose, fever, cough and other symptoms.
