What is Ovulation

Ovulation refers to the time when the follicles in a woman’s ovaries mature and gradually move from the inside of the ovary to the surface of the ovary and are expelled. If you have intercourse during this period, you have a relatively high chance of conceiving. For women of childbearing age with regular menstrual cycles, ovulation occurs about 10-14 days before the next menstrual period. The 5 days before and 4 days after the day of ovulation is the ovulation period, which is 10 days in total. For women with irregular menstrual cycles, they can visit the gynecology department of a hospital to determine the ovulation period by detecting the development of follicles through ultrasound. In addition, ovulation can also be projected based on the change in basal body temperature, as a woman’s body temperature rises by 0.3℃-0.5℃ when she ovulates. Women who intend to get pregnant can arrange intercourse appropriately during ovulation, preferably on alternate days, to have a higher chance of conception. If you do not intend to get pregnant, it is recommended to take good contraceptive measures during this period.
