If a patient’s feet develop molting and a certain amount of itching, it is possible that a fungal infection has developed in the feet, which may cause damage to the stratum corneum after the fungal infection, eventually resulting in molting. If the infection is fungal, some people can also cause significant inflammatory erythema. Therefore, if this phenomenon occurs, antifungal treatment is usually required. This phenomenon may also be due to an allergy in the area, especially if the patient develops localized contact dermatitis, or allergic dermatitis due to dietary factors, both of which may result in localized molting and itching. If this phenomenon occurs, anti-allergy treatment is required.
