Adenomyosis Affects Good Pregnancy

Adenomyosis is a diffuse or limited lesion formed by the invasion of endometrial glands and mesenchyme into the myometrium. Pathologically, adenomyosis is mainly seen as hypertrophy of the myometrium, with islands of endometrial glands and mesenchyme between the muscle walls and accompanied by smooth muscle fibers, and clinically manifested by dysmenorrhea, menstrual bleeding and uterine enlargement. Adenomyosis is a common gynecological disease and one of the most important causes of infertility, with the onset of the disease occurring between the ages of 30 and 45. Usually, this group of patients have already completed their reproductive tasks and do not need to worry about infertility. However, in recent years, with the increase of multiple abortions, scraping patients, young people in their twenties, more than 30 years old women who have not given birth to adenomyosis is not a minority, and there is a clear trend of increase, becoming a “modern disease”. Most of the patients have obvious dysmenorrhea, and about 50% of them are combined with infertility. It seriously affects the health and quality of life of young and middle-aged women. Some patients with adenomyosis have difficulty getting pregnant, and some of them may have miscarriages and premature births after pregnancy. It is generally recognized that severe adenomyosis, especially when combined with endometriosis, is likely to lead to infertility. These patients have a thickened uterus and are prone to pelvic adhesions, etc., which are not conducive to ovulation and embryo implantation, so the natural pregnancy rate is not high. Patients with mild adenomyosis still have a chance to get pregnant. In addition, if the adenomyoma is limited, the tumor can be surgically removed to preserve the uterus, and there is still a chance to get pregnant in the future. In the case of diffuse adenomyosis, the chance of miscarriage may be higher. Therefore, when adenomyosis is present, aggressive and effective treatment is necessary to ensure that it is a pre-fertile condition. At present, the main treatment methods for adenomyosis are medication, surgery and intervention. Of course the treatment varies for women of different ages. For young or fertile women, medication is the best option. For women who want a radical cure, surgical treatment is an option.
