Can water coming out of the ear heal itself?

Whether or not water coming out of the ear can heal itself requires a specific analysis of the problem and cannot be generalized. If the outflow is oily, there is no hearing loss, and there is no other discomfort in the ear, consider it to be due to oily cerumen, which is caused by water in the bath or moisture thinning due to the inflow of tears into the ear. Most of this condition can heal on its own with dry treatment. If the condition is caused by eczema of the external ear canal, acute and chronic otitis externa, or purulent otitis media, it usually does not heal on its own and should be treated symptomatically, rather than just waiting for it to heal on its own to avoid aggravating the condition and damaging the hearing. In case of eczema of the external auditory canal, allergens should be removed, oral anti-allergy medications should be taken, and drugs such as zinc oxide paste should be applied locally; in case of otitis externa, topical neomycin ointment can be applied twice a day, while avoiding reintroduction of water into the external auditory canal; in case of suppurative otitis media, inflammation needs to be eliminated, clarithromycin or roxithromycin capsules can be taken orally, and some patients need to undergo middle ear cavity irrigation. Once there is water in the ear, it is advisable to seek early medical attention from the ENT department for early diagnosis and early intervention.
