What trans fats include

Trans fats are trans fatty acids. Most fried foods and baked goods contain TFAs, such as cookies, cakes, potato chips, margarine, shortening, French fries, and doughnuts. Trans fatty acids are mostly caused by incomplete hydrogenation of unsaturated fats in food processing, such as hydrogenated pressed oils or repeated frying of vegetable oils. Fried foods and baked goods made from trans fats contain more trans fatty acids. Common foods that contain trans fats include Western-style cookies, cakes, potato chips, margarine, shortening, French fries, and doughnuts. Products containing trans fatty acids are widely added to foods by food processors in order to make them crispier and more flavorful. It is recommended to reduce the intake of trans fats in daily life to minimize the harm to human body.
