What does stage Ib lung adenocarcinoma mean?

Stage IB lung adenocarcinoma means that the maximum diameter of tumor cells is above 3~4cm, there is no lymph node metastasis or distal metastasis, it is in the early stage of clinical staging, and the prognosis is better.
According to the histopathological classification of lung cancer, it can be divided into non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer, in which non-small cell lung cancer is further divided into squamous epithelial cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, large cell carcinoma, adenosquamous carcinoma, sarcomatoid carcinoma, lymphoepithelial tumor-like carcinoma and so on.
Lung adenocarcinoma is a relatively common type among lung cancer patients, usually originating from bronchial mucosal glands and can occur in fine bronchi or central airways.
Clinical staging is usually based on the size of tumor cells, whether lymph node metastasis occurs, whether distal metastasis occurs, etc. According to the results of staging, the prognosis of patients can be roughly assessed, and it will help doctors to choose reasonable treatment plans.
Lung adenocarcinoma can be categorized into stage 0, IA, IB, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB, IIIC, IVA and IVB. Patients with IB lung adenocarcinoma who undergo surgery as early as possible have a chance to achieve clinical cure and have a higher 5-year survival rate. It is recommended that patients should actively carry out treatment and do not self-medicate.
