Is imaging dangerous?

The degree of risk varies depending on the type of imaging, but in general, the chance of danger is relatively low. For example, in angiography, there is a risk of allergic reaction to the contrast medium, pain in the patient, or cerebral infarction due to changes in the patient’s blood pressure during the injection of the contrast medium. In the case of visceral acoustic imaging, an allergic reaction to the contrast agent may occur, but it is very unlikely to occur. In the case of tubal contrast, there is a risk of abdominal bleeding due to chronic inflammation of the fallopian tubes, postoperative vaginal bleeding, or even infection.
