Localized rib pressure pain may be local trauma, muscle strain, costochondritis and so on. 1. Local trauma: if there is external impact or fall on the ground after the rib area, resulting in localized rib contusion and chest wall soft tissue injury, there may be localized rib pressure pain; if the external force is heavier, there may also be rib fracture, which will also cause obvious pain. 2. Muscle strain: often sedentary work, if the sitting posture is not correct, such as twisting the waist to sit or stilt legs, etc., will cause bilateral intercostal muscle imbalance, may lead to one side of the rib area soreness, and the pain will be aggravated by hand pressure. 3. Costal chondritis: the etiology of costal chondritis is still unclear, may be related to endocrine metabolic disorders and viral infections, the main manifestation of single rib pain, accompanied by pressure pain. There may be other causes of localized rib pain on pressure, such as intercostal stromal inflammation and pleurisy. If physiological causes are ruled out, timely consultation should be made with the doctor to clarify the specific cause and appropriate treatment should be carried out if necessary.
