How long does it take to get a good eye test after a rapid dilation?

With chronic dilating medication, it usually takes about 3 days before you can have an eye exam. With fast dilating medication, you can usually have a light test 10 to 30 minutes after dilating the pupils.
Usually for adolescents, dilated pupil optometry is applicable. This is because adolescents have strong eye regulation, and not relaxing the eye’s ciliary muscles during the eye examination will make the eye lens convex and increase refractive power, thus affecting the accuracy of the eye examination.
The choice of chronic or fast dilators is usually based on the patient’s eye adjustment ability and eye pathology.
Chronic dilators are usually atropine-based and usually take about 3 days before a normal eye examination can be performed. Rapid dilators, usually atropine, usually take only 10 to 30 minutes to perform a normal eye exam.
After dilating the pupils, there are usually symptoms such as fear of light and blurred vision, which can usually be recovered in a day or so, so there is no need to worry.
