Thalassemia minor generally does not require treatment.
Thalassemia is an autosomal incomplete dominant hereditary hemolytic anemia, mainly due to gene deletions or defects. There is no good treatment available. In thalassemia minor, hemoglobin is in the range of basic normal, patients usually have no abnormal symptoms, and it will not affect patients’ life or study, so treatment is generally not needed. In severe cases, blood transfusion is the main treatment.
The disease belongs to the genetic class of diseases, and it is difficult to cure it completely. Therefore, pre-marital checkups can detect asymptomatic patients with thalassemia minor and do a good job of pre-pregnancy prevention.
If diagnosed with the above disease, it is recommended that early and standardized treatment be carried out under the guidance of physicians in order to reduce the adverse effects of the disease.
