Mesenteric lymphadenitis is a non-specific inflammation of the mesenteric lymph nodes, commonly seen in children aged 3-12 years, and is a self-limiting disease (resolves or heals on its own), mostly due to viral infections, and is generally effective with medical treatment, while very rarely mesenteric lymphadenitis is a bacterial infection. Ultrasound examination of the abdomen may be performed. Fasting, intravenous infusion of broad-spectrum antibiotics and antiviral drugs are often used, and the symptoms usually reduce or disappear quickly. Pay attention to strengthening the immunity of the child and avoid cold and hard irritating foods as much as possible.
